Turn the Page—God Is Not Finished With Your Story

Scripture

Good Monday morning, authors! 💜📖✍️

Here we are.

The final day of August.

Another month of writing, dreaming, learning, praying, trying, stumbling, getting back up, and moving forward.

Some of you may look back over August and celebrate.

You wrote chapters.

You developed an idea.

You edited your manuscript.

You learned something new about publishing.

You launched a book.

You sold another copy.

You finally told someone:

"I'm writing a book."

Others may look back and think:

"I didn't accomplish nearly enough."

Maybe the manuscript is still unfinished.

Maybe you didn't write as often as you planned.

Maybe life became busy.

Maybe fear slowed you down.

Maybe you're ending August with exactly the same book idea you had when the month began.

If that's you, I want you to hear this:

An unfinished story is not a failed story.

God isn't finished with you yet.

And you don't have to be finished either.

🌿 Don't Measure the Month Only by Finished Pages

We love measurable accomplishments.

Word counts.

Finished chapters.

Published books.

Sales.

Reviews.

Those things can be wonderful milestones.

But sometimes the greatest progress happens where nobody can see it.

Maybe this month you finally believed:

"I really can write this book."

Maybe you discovered what your story is actually about.

Maybe you learned something that will save you from making a publishing mistake later.

Maybe God changed you before allowing you to finish what you're writing.

Not every productive season produces something immediately visible.

Roots grow before fruit appears.

💜 Take the Lessons—Leave the Regrets

Tomorrow begins a new month.

Don't carry unnecessary guilt into September.

Take what August taught you.

Leave behind the comparison.

Leave behind the fear.

Leave behind the voice telling you that you're too old, too inexperienced, too unknown, or too late.

Leave behind the belief that because you didn't finish yesterday, you can't finish tomorrow.

You cannot rewrite August.

But by God's grace, you can turn the page.

September is waiting.

✍️ Your Story May Be Bigger Than a Book

As authors, we spend a lot of time thinking about the stories we're writing.

But never forget:

God is also writing a story through our lives.

Sometimes the season you're currently living will eventually become the testimony you write about.

The disappointment may become a devotional.

The waiting may become encouragement.

The lesson may become a chapter.

The prayer you're praying today may become the praise report you share tomorrow.

Don't rush through the season simply because you want to reach the ending.

God can use every chapter.

Even this one.

🌸 Finish Faithfully, Not Fearfully

As we close August, don't ask:

"Did I accomplish everything?"

Instead ask:

"Was I faithful with what God gave me?"

And where you weren't?

Ask Him to help you do better.

That's grace.

We learn.

We grow.

We begin again.

Authors revise manuscripts.

And thankfully, God continually works on His children.

🙏 August Closing Author Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for carrying us through another month.

Thank You for every idea written down, every sentence completed, every lesson learned, every prayer answered, and even every challenge that helped us grow.

We surrender our unfinished work to You.

We surrender the things we accomplished and the things we didn't.

Keep pride from our successes and shame from our unfinished goals.

Give us wisdom as we enter a new month.

Renew our creativity.

Strengthen our discipline.

Protect our purpose from comparison.

Give courage to the person who hasn't started.

Give perseverance to the writer in the middle.

Give wisdom to the author preparing to publish.

And encourage the published author wondering what comes next.

Above everything else, may our words honor You.

Thank You that You aren't finished with our stories.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

Close One Chapter—Prepare for Another

Take a sheet of paper and write two headings:

WHAT AUGUST TAUGHT ME

Write down three things you learned about:

💜 Yourself✍️ Writing📚 Publishing🙏 Faith🌿 Perseverance

Then write:

MY SEPTEMBER AUTHOR GOAL

Choose ONE realistic goal.

Not twenty.

One.

Maybe:

📖 Write 10,000 words.

✍️ Finish three chapters.

📝 Complete your first draft.

🎨 Finalize your book cover.

📚 Learn how publishing works.

©️ Research ISBN and copyright questions.

🎉 Publish your book.

📣 Create a marketing plan.

💜 Finally begin the story you've been talking about writing.

Write your goal somewhere you'll see it.

Then pray over it.

September can begin differently.

Close this month with gratitude instead of regret.

Then turn the page.

Sharpen the pencil.

Open the notebook.

Pray over the dream.

Because tomorrow there will be another blank page waiting.
