🍂✍️ A New Month, A Blank Page, A Faithful Beginning

Scripture

"Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."— Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)

Good morning, authors, and hello September! 🍂📚

There is something beautiful about turning the calendar to a brand-new month.

Thirty new days.

Thirty new opportunities.

Thirty new chances to pray, write, learn, grow, encourage someone else, and move a little closer to the dream God has placed within your heart.

September arrives like a blank page.

And perhaps today God isn't asking you to know how the entire story ends.

Perhaps He's simply asking:

"Will you trust Me enough to begin?"

🍁 Stop Waiting Until You Feel Like an Author

I want to speak especially to the person who keeps saying:

"I want to write a book someday."

Maybe you've carried the idea for years.

You can see the characters.

You know the testimony.

You've already chosen a title.

You've imagined the cover.

You've even pictured yourself holding the finished book.

But when someone asks if you're an author, you quickly answer:

"Oh no. I just have an idea."

Friend...

Authors begin with ideas.

You don't become an author when a box of books arrives at your front door.

You become a writer when you begin writing.

Don't wait for permission to begin using the gift God placed inside you.

💜 September Doesn't Need a Perfect Plan

Sometimes we spend so much time preparing to write that we never actually write.

We buy notebooks.

We research publishing.

We watch videos.

We change the title seventeen times. 😊

We create character names.

We think about covers.

All of those things can be helpful.

But eventually...

Somebody has to write Chapter One.

Your first draft won't be perfect.

It's not supposed to be.

There will be sentences you rewrite.

Chapters you rearrange.

Characters you change.

Ideas you remove.

That's called writing.

Don't expect the first draft to look like the finished book.

Give yourself permission to create something that still needs work.

🌿 Commit the Work to God

Proverbs 16:3 gives us beautiful direction for this new month:

"Commit thy works unto the LORD..."

Before setting your September writing goals, pray over them.

Before beginning your manuscript, pray.

Before making publishing decisions, pray.

Before signing contracts, pray.

Before spending money, pray.

Before launching your book, pray.

And after you've prayed...

do the work.

Faith isn't an excuse to avoid preparation.

Prayer and faithful action belong together.

Ask God for direction, then be willing to learn what you don't know.

✍️ September Can Change Your Manuscript

Imagine what could happen if you wrote just 500 words a day throughout September.

You don't have to write for eight hours.

You don't have to finish an entire book this week.

You simply need consistency.

A few hundred words today.

Another few tomorrow.

One chapter.

Then another.

Small steps don't look impressive while we're taking them.

But repeated faithful steps can eventually produce something we once only dreamed about.

Don't underestimate what God can do through consistency.

This month, I want our Authors Hub to become even more than a place where we share our books.

💜 And how can authors genuinely support one another?

Nobody begins knowing everything.

We learn. We ask questions. We grow.

🙏 September 1 Author Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing us into a new month.

Thank You for every author, future author, storyteller, teacher, and dreamer reading these words.

We commit September to You.

Take the ideas You've placed within our hearts and give us wisdom to know what to do with them.

Give courage to the person afraid to begin.

Give discipline to the writer struggling with consistency.

Give perseverance to the author working through the middle.

Give wisdom to those preparing to publish.

Open the right doors and close the wrong ones.

Protect us from comparison, discouragement, pride, and fear.

Help us celebrate one another genuinely.

And above everything else, may the stories we write reflect truth, offer hope, encourage hearts, and bring glory to You.

In Jesus' precious name,

🍂 September 1 Author Challenge

The September Writing Promise

Take out a notebook and finish this sentence:

"By September 30, I want to..."

Make your answer realistic and measurable.

Maybe:

💡 Choose my book idea.

✍️ Write my first chapter.

📖 Write 10,000 words.

📝 Finish my manuscript.

🎨 Complete my cover.

📚 Prepare my book for publishing.

🎉 Publish my book.

📣 Create a marketing plan for my published book.

Then underneath your goal write:

"I will give this goal ______ minutes each day."

Maybe it's 15 minutes.

Maybe 30.

Maybe an hour.

The amount matters less than your willingness to show up consistently.
