Rest, Reflect, and Reignite Your Calling

Habakkuk 2:2–3

“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.For the vision is yet for an appointed time…”

“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

✍️ Devotional Thought

The weekend is a beautiful pause in the middle of our busy lives.

For authors, it can become a sacred moment to reconnect with the reason we write in the first place.

Many writers begin their journey with excitement and vision. Ideas flow freely, and the message feels clear. But as the weeks go on, distractions, responsibilities, and doubts can begin to crowd that vision.

That’s why moments of reflection are so important.

Habakkuk reminds us that God tells us to write the vision and make it plain. Writing is not just creativity for a Christian author — it is often obedience.

God may have placed a testimony in your heart.A story of redemption.A devotional message of encouragement.A book that shares truth with those who need hope.

And even when progress feels slow, the vision still matters.

Psalm 37 reminds us to commit our way to the Lord. That includes the words we write and the message we carry.

You may not know when the book will be finished.You may not know who will read it.You may not see the full impact of your writing.

But God sees it all.

This weekend is an invitation to do three things:

Rest in God’s presence.Your creativity is refreshed when you spend time with Him.

Reflect on the vision He placed in your heart.Why did you begin writing in the first place?

Reignite your calling.Even a small step forward matters.

One page.One paragraph.One idea written down.

Faithful steps eventually become finished books.
