Good morning, ! š¤ Thereās no better way to wrap up the weekend than with a warm, comforting, soul-filling mealāand todayās chuckwagon classic is just that.
This dish is rich, hearty, and full of that down-home comfortĀ that brings everyone to the table.
šš„£ Ingredients
For the Soup:
2 cups cooked chicken (shredded)
4 cups chicken broth
1 cup milk or heavy cream
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon thyme
For Dumplings:
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
š„ Chuckwagon Cooking Instructions
1ļøā£ In a Dutch oven, combine chicken broth, onion, garlic, and seasonings. Bring to a simmer.
2ļøā£ Stir in cooked chicken and milk, letting everything heat through.
3ļøā£ In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter to form a soft dough.
4ļøā£ Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough into the simmering soup.
5ļøā£ Cover and let cook for 12ā15 minutesĀ (do not lift the lid).
6ļøā£ Dumplings will puff up and become soft and fluffy.
