Good morning, ! 🤠There’s no better way to wrap up the weekend than with a warm, comforting, soul-filling meal—and today’s chuckwagon classic is just that.

This dish is rich, hearty, and full of that down-home comfort that brings everyone to the table.


🍗🥣 Ingredients

For the Soup:

  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded)

  • 4 cups chicken broth

  • 1 cup milk or heavy cream

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon thyme

For Dumplings:

  • 1 cup flour

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 tablespoon butter

🔥 Chuckwagon Cooking Instructions

1️⃣ In a Dutch oven, combine chicken broth, onion, garlic, and seasonings. Bring to a simmer.

2️⃣ Stir in cooked chicken and milk, letting everything heat through.

3️⃣ In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter to form a soft dough.

4️⃣ Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough into the simmering soup.

5️⃣ Cover and let cook for 12–15 minutes (do not lift the lid).

6️⃣ Dumplings will puff up and become soft and fluffy.

Serve hot with:
