(Thrift Store Repurpose – Cozy & Clever)
💡 The Idea
Turn a thrifted sweater into cozy mittens—perfect for winter, gifts, or even donation projects. This one always gets engagement because people can’t believe how easy it is.
🧺 Supplies:
Thrifted sweater (wool or thick knit works best)
Scissors
Mitten template (trace your hand!)
Needle & thread OR fabric glue / iron-on hem tape
Optional: buttons, felt hearts, embroidery thread
✨ Directions:
Lay sweater flat and trace mitten shape (thumb included).
Cut two pieces per mitten.
Turn inside out.
Stitch, glue, or hem-tape around edges—leave wrist open.
Turn right-side out.
Decorate if desired.
🧵 No-Sew Tip: Fabric glue + overnight drying works great for beginners.
💜 Fun Variations:
Kid mittens (perfect for small scraps)
Fingerless mitts (just shorten the pattern)
Heart patch for February
Faith gift: attach a small tag with “Made With Love”
