🎄 Daily Devotional: “His Light Still Shines”

🎄 Daily Devotional: “His Light Still Shines”

Scripture:

“The light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”— John 1:5 (KJV)

As the holidays draw closer, the lights begin to twinkle, families gather, and traditions return. Yet for many who are grieving, this season can feel heavier, quieter, and lonelier than ever. The empty chair, the missing laugh, the traditions that feel different now—these moments stir memories that tug at the heart.

But even in this tender place, there is hope. Grief cannot dim the light of God’s love. The same Jesus whose birth we celebrate came to bring light into every shadowed place of our lives—including the ones grief has touched.

Your loved one may no longer be here physically, but the love you shared is still alive. It shows up in the stories you tell, the decorations you hang, the songs that make you smile, and the traditions you carry forward. Love is a light that doesn’t burn out—it echoes into eternity.

And even when your heart feels heavy, God’s light shines gently over you. He sees the tears behind the smile. He knows the ache beneath the celebration. And He walks beside you through every moment of this season, offering strength, comfort, and peace.

Let His light guide you through this holiday. Let it remind you that the darkness of grief cannot overcome the love of Christ—nor the love you still carry for the one you miss.

💛 Prayer:

Lord,Thank You for being my light in every season, especially when grief feels heavy. As the holidays approach, help me find peace in Your presence. Let the love I shared with my loved one shine brightly in my heart, and remind me that darkness can never overcome the light You give.In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
