šæ Daily Grief Devotional ā December 14: āHope Grows Even Hereā
Scripture:
āNow the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.āā Romans 15:13 (KJV)
As December continues, grief can feel heavier. The days move closer to gatherings, traditions, and memories that stir the ache of absence. You may feel torn between wanting to participate and wanting to retreat. Both feelings are valid.
Today, God reminds us that hope is not loud or rushed.Hope often grows quietlyāright in the middle of sorrow.
Hope is found in the small moments:
a memory that brings warmth instead of tears,
a deep breath that comes easier than yesterday,
a gentle peace that settles when you least expect it.
Romans 15:13 does not promise the absence of grief. It promises God Himselfāfilling your heart with peace and joy as you believe, even while you grieve. This kind of hope does not deny loss; it lives alongside it.
You may not feel full of hope todayāand thatās okay. God supplies it through the power of the Holy Spirit, not through your own strength. Your job is not to manufacture healing, but to allow Him to meet you where you are.
Today, let hope be simple.Let it be quiet.Let it be enough for this moment.
Because even hereāeven in griefāhope is growing.
š Prayer:
God of hope,Meet me in the quiet places of my grief today. Fill my heart with peace where there is heaviness and remind me that hope is still alive within me. Help me trust You with this moment, this day, and this season. Thank You for walking with me gently and faithfully. In Jesusā Name, Amen.
