🌿 February 9 Grief Support Devotional: “You Are Allowed to Take This One Day at a Time”

“You Are Allowed to Take This One Day at a Time”

Scripture: “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”— Matthew 6:34 (KJV)

Grief has a way of pulling your heart in many directions at once—into memories of the past and worries about the future. Some days, thinking ahead feels overwhelming. The weight of “how long” or “what comes next” can feel too heavy to carry.

Today, God offers you permission to stay right here.

You are not required to figure out tomorrow. You are not expected to have answers for the future. You are only asked to walk through today—one moment, one breath, one step at a time.

Healing unfolds slowly, often quietly, and always in God’s timing. Taking things day by day is not avoidance; it is wisdom. It is grace in action.

Today is enough. This moment is enough. And you are enough—just as you are.

God is walking with you through this day. Tomorrow will be met with the same faithfulness when it arrives.

đŸ€ Prayer

Lord,Help me release the weight of tomorrow and focus on today. When grief makes the future feel overwhelming, give me peace for this moment and strength for the steps right in front of me. Walk with me through today, one breath at a time.In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
