đż Finding Light in the Valley of Grief đż
Daily Grief Support â October 6
âThe LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.ââPsalm 34:18 (KJV)
Grief is not a journey we chooseâitâs one we are carried into by love and loss. When someone we cherish is gone, the ache feels endless, and the world seems quieter, emptier. Yet even in those moments when the weight of sorrow feels unbearable, God is near.
He doesnât rush us through the pain or tell us to âmove on.â Instead, He sits with us in the silence, collecting every tear and holding every broken piece of our heart. The Lord understands grief because He, too, has felt it. Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarusânot because He lacked power, but because His heart was full of compassion.
In our darkest moments, itâs easy to feel like no one sees our pain. But God not only seesâit moves Him to comfort. He promises to be near the brokenhearted, to lift us up when we cannot stand, and to breathe peace into the chaos of loss.
Grief may change us, but it does not destroy us. Through it, God teaches us to lean into His everlasting arms, to find strength we didnât know we had, and to love deeper because we understand the cost of loss.
As we walk through this valley together, let us remember: healing is not forgettingâitâs learning to live again, holding onto hope because Jesus lives. One day, every tear will be wiped away, and sorrow will be no more. Until then, we cling to His promise and His peace.
Reflection:Are there moments when youâve felt alone in your grief? Ask the Lord to show you His nearness today. Even in the quiet tears, He is with you.
Prayer:Heavenly Father, thank You for being near to the brokenhearted. When the pain feels too heavy, carry me. When the memories come rushing in, calm my spirit. Fill me with Your peace and remind me that my loved one is safe in Your arms. Amen.
