☕ Food for Thought: I Am Not Going to Stress

Good morning, family and friends. ❤️

As I sit here this morning with my coffee, contemplating life and talking with the Lord, I've made up my mind about something:

I AM NOT GOING TO STRESS ABOUT EVERYTHING.

My health.

My weight.

Tomorrow.

Things I cannot control.

I'm going to do what I know to do, make the best choices I can, pray about it, and trust God with the results.

My health and weight journey has taught me a lot about this.

Some days the scale goes down, and I'm excited.

Then there are mornings when I step on it and somehow that number has gone back UP. 😂

I've tried so many things over the years trying to lose weight. But I'm learning that stressing, worrying, and beating myself up isn't the answer.

I have to take care of the body God has given me, make wise choices, keep going—and give the rest to Him.

GOD IS IN CONTROL. I AM NOT.

And I'm okay with that.

The Bible says:

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." — 1 Peter 5:7 KJV

Notice that Scripture doesn't say:

"Give God the really big problems and handle everything else yourself."

It says:

ALL YOUR CARE.

That includes the things we sometimes think are too small to bother God with.

I've been thinking again about Jacob.

Jacob wrestled through the night and said:

"I will not let thee go, except thou bless me." — Genesis 32:26 KJV

There is something about that persistence that speaks to me.

Not giving up.

Not walking away because the answer hasn't come yet.

Continuing to pray.

Continuing to trust.

Continuing to believe.

And that applies to so much more than my health.

I trust God with my family.

I trust Him with my ministry.

I trust Him with my work.

I trust Him with my future.

I trust Him with the things I'm praying about that nobody else even knows.

And I can tell you from experience:

GOD HEARS US.

Sometimes I imagine God watching me struggle to figure something out by myself and lovingly saying:

"Sarah, all you had to do was ask. I was right here." ❤️

How often do we worry first, stress second, try to fix everything third—and finally pray when nothing else works?

I'm trying to turn that around.

PRAY FIRST.

The Bible says:

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God..." — James 1:5 KJV

God isn't bothered by us coming to Him.

He's our Father.

He wants us to trust Him.

And sometimes trusting God doesn't mean the scale immediately moves, the problem instantly disappears, or the prayer gets answered exactly the way we expected.

Sometimes trust simply means:

"Lord, I'm going to keep doing what I know is right, and I'm leaving the outcome with You."

That's where I'm trying to live.

Not in fear.

Not in constant worry.

Not measuring the goodness of my day by a number on a scale.

BUT TRUSTING GOD ONE DAY AT A TIME.

And maybe that's what somebody else needs this morning.

Whatever you're carrying, talk to Him about it.

Your health.

Your family.

Your finances.

Your job.

Your children.

Your dreams.

Your fears.

Your unanswered prayers.

Give Him all of it.

And then breathe.

You don't have to carry tomorrow today.

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." — Philippians 4:13 KJV

My strength isn't in Sarah having everything figured out.

MY STRENGTH IS IN JESUS.

Lord, help me take care of what You've entrusted to me without becoming consumed by things I cannot control. Give me wisdom to make good choices, perseverance when progress feels slow, and faith when I don't see immediate results. Remind me to come to You first instead of carrying everything myself. Today I give You my health, my worries, my plans, my family, my future, and every unanswered prayer. In Jesus' name, Amen.

❤️ Do your part. Pray about everything. Give God the outcome. And KEEP GOING.

Today I'm choosing:

LESS STRESS. MORE PRAYER. MORE TRUST. MORE JESUS.
