☕ Food for Thought: THE PROMISE WAS ALREADY THERE ❤️

Good morning, family and friends.

As I sit here with my coffee and Bible this morning, I've been thinking about Mary standing near the cross, watching Jesus suffer.

As a mother, I can't imagine the pain in her heart. She knew who Jesus was, yet what she was seeing must have been incredibly difficult to understand.

And that made me think:

Sometimes what we SEE doesn't look anything like what God has PROMISED.

But God was still working.

All the way back in Genesis, after Satan deceived Eve, God gave a promise:

"...it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." — Genesis 3:15 KJV

The enemy may have thought he had won in the garden.

He may have thought he had won at the cross.

BUT GOD ALREADY HAD A PLAN.

Jesus was the promised One. Through His death and resurrection, He made the way for us to be reconciled to God.

"...having made peace through the blood of his cross..." — Colossians 1:20 KJV

Here's what speaks to my heart this morning:

The enemy still tries to plant lies.

"God has forgotten you.""Your situation will never change.""Your past defines you.""There is no hope."

But I've learned something:

A LIE DOESN'T BECOME TRUTH JUST BECAUSE I'VE BELIEVED IT FOR A LONG TIME.

I need to take that lie back to God's Word and ask:

"Lord, what do YOU say?"

There have been times in my own life when what I was seeing didn't make sense. I couldn't understand what God was doing.

But looking back, I can see that God was working even when I couldn't see Him working.

That's why I don't want to judge God's plan by one difficult moment.

The cross looked like defeat.

But Sunday was coming. ❤️

So here's my question for myself today—and maybe you need to ask it too:

What lie have I been believing that God's truth needs to replace?

🙏 Lord, expose every lie I've allowed into my heart and mind. Replace it with the truth of Your Word. When I can't understand what You're doing, help me trust You anyway. Remind me that the enemy does not get the final word—YOU DO. In Jesus' name, Amen.
