God's plan

He Just Doesn’t Get It The most powerful leader in Egypt, Pharoah, would not let the children of Israel go. He refused to listen to Moses, the humble leader of God’s chosen people. He refused to listen to his own servants for they recognized that Egypt “was ruined.” Moses and Aaron warned Pharoah of the pending doom to him and his people. After so many plagues, Pharoah started to realize that the time had come to do something but still wanted control over the situation. He had been warned; he saw the plagues; his servant’s advice was rejected. In all of this, God’s plan was going its course. Are we doing our part in God’s Kingdom? Let us not grow weary in obeying God’s will for our lives – God’s plan is far greater than our understanding. Prayer: You are Almighty, Lord Jehovah. Your ways are greater than I can even imagine, yet, I pray Your Will be done. Whatever is happening around me and whatever our ungodly leaders are doing, I pray that I be faithful to You. In Jesus' name Amen.
Day 30
PSALM 119 IS A TREASURE
[Scheduled Reading: Psalm 116-150]
Be sure to take note of Psalm 119 (You won’t miss it - Ha!).
It’s the longest Psalm, and the longest chapter in the Bible. Would you believe that it has more verses (176) than 21 of the books of the Bible?! No kidding.
This psalm is organized around 22 stanzas, one for each letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
Each verse contains a word or phrase that refers to God’s Word: i.e. “laws”, “commandments”, “statutes”, “ways”, “testimonies”, “precepts”, etc.
One season, I was feeling flat in my Bible engagement and seeking greater traction in my Bible reading. It was before I did my first power-read through scriptures.
I found great encouragement and inspiration from this chapter, taking the time to highlight every single mention of reference to God’s Word.
This is definitely a chapter to return to after you complete the 60-day Bible read, to spend time reading slowly and deeply.
Psalm 119 is a treasure.
