Happy Labor Day, authors, writers, dreamers, and friends! 🇺🇸💜📖

Today we recognize the hard work of men and women across our country—the hands that build, teach, serve, care, create, lead, protect, grow, repair, cook, clean, drive, minister, and provide.

And here in our Authors Hub, I also want to recognize a kind of work that people don't always see:

✍️ The work behind the book.

Readers see the finished cover.

But authors know about the hours behind it.

The blank pages.

The research.

The rewrites.

The chapters deleted and written again.

The editing.

The proofreading.

The formatting.

The cover decisions.

The publishing questions.

The marketing.

The prayers.

And sometimes the late-night thought:

"Why did I ever decide to write a book?" 😂📚

Then somehow we pick the pen back up and keep going.

Because writing is a gift—but it is also work.

And meaningful work is worth doing faithfully.

🌿 Your Work Has Purpose

Whether you're writing your first sentence or publishing your tenth book, don't underestimate the value of faithfully using the gifts God has given you.

You may be writing a testimony.

A devotional.

A children's book.

A mystery.

A family history.

A Bible study.

A novel.

A cookbook.

A grief resource.

Or something completely different.

Whatever you're creating, remember:

Do the work with excellence, but don't forget Who gave you the ability to do it.

We write.

We learn.

We edit.

We publish.

But ultimately, we trust God with the results.

💜 And Today—It's Okay to Rest!

Labor Day is also a wonderful reminder that human beings weren't created to work every minute of every day.

Rest isn't laziness.

Sometimes rest is exactly what allows us to return to our work refreshed.

So if you're spending today with family...

Enjoy them.

If you're grilling...

Eat something good! 😊

If you're sitting on the porch with coffee...

Enjoy the quiet.

If you're reading instead of writing...

Turn another page.

And if an amazing book idea suddenly comes to you?

Well...you ARE an author.

Write it down before you forget it. 😂✍️

Then go back to enjoying your day.
