đżâ¨ Holy Wednesday â A Day of Reflection & Betrayal â¨đż
Holy Wednesday, often called âSpy Wednesday,â marks a quiet but heavy moment in Holy Week.
It is the day when Judas Iscariot agreed to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver.
đ The Betrayal
âThen one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you?And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.ââ Matthew 26:14â15 (KJV)
One of Jesusâ ownâŚwalked closely with HimâŚyet chose to betray Him.
đ The Deeper Meaning
Holy Wednesday reminds us that not every betrayal comes from strangers.
Sometimes it comes from those closestâŚand sometimes, if weâre honest, from our own hearts.
Moments when we:
Choose the world over Jesus
Stay silent when we should stand
Trade truth for comfort
đ A Heart Check
Am I truly loyal to Christ in all areas of my life?
Have I allowed anything to take His place in my heart?
Am I walking with Him⌠or drifting away?
đż Todayâs Reminder
Even in betrayalâŚJesus continued toward the cross.
He knew.He still loved. He still chose you.
đ Prayer
Lord, search my heart. Remove anything that pulls me away from You. Help me to walk in faithfulness, loyalty, and truth. Even when itâs hard, help me choose You every time.
⨠Holy Wednesday is quiet⌠but it prepares us for what is coming.⨠Darkness may riseâbut redemption is near.
