🌿 Easter Countdown: 4 Days to Go
Holy Wednesday Devotional
As we move closer to Resurrection Sunday, today we find ourselves at Holy Wednesday, also known as Silent Wednesday by many. The Gospels don't give us much detail about what Jesus did on this day—perhaps He spent it in quiet reflection, preparing His heart for what was to come.
But what is recorded today is significant:
💔 Judas made the choice to betray Jesus.
📖 Scripture Focus:
“Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests and asked, ‘What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?’ So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver.”
—Matthew 26:14–15
💬 Devotional Thought:
It’s sobering to think that while Jesus may have been spending time with those He loved, His betrayal was already in motion.
Holy Wednesday reminds us that not everyone who walks with Jesus is truly surrendered. It’s a call to check our own hearts:
➡️ Are we following Him with full devotion—or only when it’s convenient?
➡️ Is there anything we’re holding back or trading for temporary gain?
In the silence of today, take time to sit with the Lord. Let Him search your heart. Confess anything standing in the way of intimacy with Him. He already knows—and He still chose the cross.
🕊️ Prayer:
Lord, as we reflect on the quiet and betrayal of this day, help us to choose You over everything else. We don’t want to follow You halfheartedly. Cleanse our hearts, renew our minds, and draw us closer as we prepare for the joy of Your resurrection. Amen.
✨ Just 4 more days until the stone is rolled away and the world is changed forever!
