đż January 15 Grief Support Devotional: âGod Is Still Writing Your Storyâ
Scripture:
âFor I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.ââ Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
Grief can make your story feel interruptedâlike a chapter ended far too soon, leaving pages unfinished and questions unanswered. You may wonder what your life looks like now, or how joy could ever return after such loss.
But God gently reminds you today:your story is not over.
Loss may have changed the direction, but it has not erased Godâs plans for you. The thoughts He thinks toward you are still rooted in peace, still filled with purpose, still guided by love.
This doesnât mean the pain is minimized. It doesnât mean the past is forgotten. It means that God weaves even sorrow into a story that still carries hope.
You are allowed to grieve. You are allowed to heal slowly. And you are allowed to believe that God is still at workâwriting new chapters that honor where youâve been and gently lead you forward.
Today, trust that even when the pages feel blank, Godâs hand is still moving. He knows how to bring meaning, comfort, and peace into the chapters ahead.
You are not lost in the story. You are deeply known. And God is still writingâwith care, faithfulness, and love.
đ Prayer:
Lord,Thank You for reminding me that my story is not finished. When grief makes the future feel uncertain, help me trust Your plans for peace and hope. Walk with me into the chapters ahead and help me rest in Your faithful love.In Jesusâ Name, Amen.
