đż January 5 Devotional: âHope Is Still Risingâ
Scripture:
âWhy art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.ââ Psalm 42:11 (KJV)
Some days, hope feels distant. You may want to feel encouraged, but your heart still feels heavy. Grief doesnât disappear just because a new year has begun, and healing doesnât move at the pace we expect.
Yet Scripture gently reminds us that hope can exist even when the soul feels cast down.
Hope is not always loud or joyful.Sometimes hope is simply choosing to believe that God is still workingâeven when emotions say otherwise.
Psalm 42 speaks to a soul that feels unsettled, discouraged, and wearyâyet it points the heart back to God. Not because everything feels right, but because God remains faithful.
Today, you donât have to force joy.You donât have to pretend youâre okay. You only need to place your hope in Godâquietly, honestly, and faithfully.
Hope is still rising, even if you canât see it yet.Healing is still happening, even if it feels slow.God is still with you, even in the heaviness.
And one dayâstep by stepâyou will look back and see how He carried you through.
đ Prayer:
Lord,When my soul feels heavy and unsettled, help me place my hope in You. Remind me that You are still at work in my life, even when I donât feel strong. Restore my heart, steady my spirit, and help me trust You with each new day.In Jesusâ Name, Amen.
