🌿 January 5 Devotional: “Hope Is Still Rising”

🌿 January 5 Devotional: “Hope Is Still Rising”

Scripture:

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”— Psalm 42:11 (KJV)

Some days, hope feels distant. You may want to feel encouraged, but your heart still feels heavy. Grief doesn’t disappear just because a new year has begun, and healing doesn’t move at the pace we expect.

Yet Scripture gently reminds us that hope can exist even when the soul feels cast down.

Hope is not always loud or joyful.Sometimes hope is simply choosing to believe that God is still working—even when emotions say otherwise.

Psalm 42 speaks to a soul that feels unsettled, discouraged, and weary—yet it points the heart back to God. Not because everything feels right, but because God remains faithful.

Today, you don’t have to force joy.You don’t have to pretend you’re okay. You only need to place your hope in God—quietly, honestly, and faithfully.

Hope is still rising, even if you can’t see it yet.Healing is still happening, even if it feels slow.God is still with you, even in the heaviness.

And one day—step by step—you will look back and see how He carried you through.

💛 Prayer:

Lord,When my soul feels heavy and unsettled, help me place my hope in You. Remind me that You are still at work in my life, even when I don’t feel strong. Restore my heart, steady my spirit, and help me trust You with each new day.In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
