January 7 Grief Support Devotional: “God Holds the Pieces of Your Heart”

Scripture:

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”— Psalm 147:3 (KJV)

Grief can leave your heart feeling fractured—pieces of love, memory, longing, and pain scattered in ways that are hard to gather. Some days you may feel whole enough to move forward; other days you may feel like the smallest thing could cause you to unravel.

God sees every piece.

He does not ask you to put yourself back together. He does not expect you to hide the brokenness. He gently steps in and begins the healing work only He can do.

Healing doesn’t always mean the pain disappears.Sometimes it means the wounds are tended with care.Sometimes it means the sharp edges soften.Sometimes it means learning how to live again while carrying love and loss together.

God binds up the brokenhearted—not hurriedly, not carelessly, but with compassion and patience. He knows where it hurts. He knows how deep the wounds go. And He knows how to heal without erasing the love that remains.

Today, let God hold the pieces of your heart.Let Him tend to the wounds you can’t name.Let His presence remind you that healing is happening—even when it feels slow.

You are not beyond healing. You are not alone in your grief. You are held by the One who restores hearts.

💛 Prayer:

Lord,Thank You for caring so deeply for my broken heart. Bind up the wounds grief has left behind and help me trust You with every fragile piece. Walk with me through this healing process and surround me with Your peace today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
