– December 17th: Living With Grateful Faith📖 Luke Chapter 17
🕊️ Key Scripture (KJV):“And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?”— Luke 17:17
📚 Devotional Thought:
Luke 17 draws our hearts to an often-overlooked part of faith: gratitude.
Jesus heals ten lepers—each one completely restored. Yet only one returns to give thanks. Jesus notices. He asks a question that still speaks to us today:“Where are the nine?”
Christmas is a season filled with blessings—some small, some life-changing, some quiet, some obvious. But Luke 17 reminds us that faith is not only believing God for miracles; it is also returning to Him with thanksgiving once those miracles arrive.
Grateful faith recognizes that every blessing comes from God.It pauses. It turns back.It says thank You.
The one who returned didn’t just receive healing—he received deeper restoration. Jesus told him, “thy faith hath made thee whole.”
As Christmas draws closer, this chapter invites us to reflect:Are we quick to ask God for help, but slow to thank Him afterward?Do we pause long enough to recognize His hand at work in our lives?
A thankful heart keeps us grounded. It keeps our focus on the Giver, not just the gift.It deepens our relationship with Jesus.
Christmas shines brightest when gratitude leads our faith.
🎄 Christmas Reflection: Gratitude as Worship
Many Christmas traditions—songs, prayers, meals, and gatherings—are rooted in thanksgiving. From carols of praise to prayers before Christmas dinner, gratitude has always been central to celebrating Christ.
Luke 17 reminds us that thanksgiving itself is an act of worship.
🙏 Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for every blessing You have poured into my life—seen and unseen.Help me live with a grateful heart and never take Your goodness for granted.Teach me to return to You daily with thanksgiving and praise.
✍️ Reflection Questions:
• In what ways has God blessed me recently that I need to thank Him for?• Am I more focused on asking or appreciating?• How can I practice gratitude more intentionally this Christmas season?
