šŸ² Cozy Beef, Vegetable & Biscuit Camp Stew

A one-pot, cold-day comfort meal — hearty stew topped with soft biscuit dumplings.

This is the kind of meal that simmers quietly while the house warms up — filling bellies and slowing the day down.

🄩 Ingredients

For the Stew

  • 1 lb beef stew meat (or ground beef)

  • 2 tbsp butter or bacon grease

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 medium potatoes, diced

  • 2 carrots, sliced

  • 2 celery stalks, chopped

  • 4 cups beef broth

  • 1 tsp thyme

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt (to taste)

For the Biscuit Dumplings

  • 1½ cups biscuit dough, cut into small pieces(store-bought or homemade)

šŸ³ Instructions

  1. Brown the BeefIn a Dutch oven, heat butter or bacon grease. Brown beef on all sides. Remove and set aside.

  2. Build the BaseIn the same pot, sautƩ onion and garlic until fragrant.

  3. Add VegetablesStir in potatoes, carrots, and celery. Cook 3–4 minutes.

  4. Create the StewReturn beef to the pot. Add broth, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.

  5. SimmerCover and cook 30–35 minutes, until beef and vegetables are tender.

  6. Add Biscuit DumplingsNestle biscuit pieces gently into the stew. Cover and simmer 12–15 minutes, until biscuits are fluffy and cooked through.

  7. ServeLadle into bowls, making sure everyone gets stew andĀ a biscuit dumpling.
