Easter Countdown Devotional: Holy Saturday
Day: Saturday Before Easter
Theme: Waiting in the Silence
Scripture: Lamentations 3:25-26 (KJV)"The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord."
Reflection:Today is a day wrapped in quiet. The sky that once trembled at the cross is now still. The tomb is sealed. The world waits.
Holy Saturday is the in-between—between death and resurrection, grief and joy, despair and hope. For the followers of Christ, it must have felt like all hope was lost. Yet in the silence, God was still moving. He was never absent. Heaven was preparing for the greatest victory the world would ever know.
In our lives, we too experience Holy Saturday moments—seasons where it feels like God is silent, prayers unanswered, and the promise unseen. But beloved, take heart. The silence doesn’t mean He is not working. It means resurrection is near.
Prayer:Lord, in the silence, I will trust You. When I cannot see, I will believe. I know You are working behind the scenes, preparing the miracle. Help me to rest in Your presence today and to find peace in the waiting. Amen.
Challenge for Today:Reach out to someone who may be in a season of waiting. Offer them encouragement, prayer, and a reminder that God is never late—He is always on time.
