When the Wait Feels Long

🌿 Daily Devotional – April 17, 2025 Title: “When the Wait Feels Long”

Scripture:"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."— Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Devotion:Waiting can feel like the hardest part of the journey. Whether it's waiting on a breakthrough, a healing, a reconciliation, or an answered prayer, it can wear us down emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. But God never wastes the wait.

Isaiah reminds us that those who wait upon the Lord—not in frustration or hopelessness, but in faithful expectation—will find renewed strength. Like eagles soaring high above the storms, God promises we’ll rise above the things trying to pull us down.

Maybe today you’re tired of waiting. Maybe your heart is growing weary. But don’t give up. God sees you. He’s working behind the scenes in ways you can’t imagine. Trust His timing—it’s perfect, even when it feels delayed. The strength you need is not found in figuring it out but in surrendering it to Him.

While you wait, worship. While you wait, pray. While you wait, believe. God isn’t late—He’s building something beautiful in you.

Reflection Questions:

  • What area of your life feels like it's in a season of waiting?

  • How can you shift from frustration to faithful expectation today?

  • What promise from God’s Word can you cling to in the waiting?

Prayer:Father, thank You for being with me in every season—including the waiting. Help me trust You even when I don’t see the full picture. Renew my strength today, Lord. Lift my eyes above the noise and distractions, and let me soar like an eagle—resting in Your promise and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
